A One-Way Lap Around The World | Ascent Backcountry Snow Journal

Breaking trail for our crew in Georgia Photo: Paul Olerich

I distinctly remember one morning last year in China thinking, if we ever get out of here, I’m going to have to write a piece titled-“Down with Disease”. Beyond being a favorite song for many of us (start with 12/29/97 and let the set roll if you need a little inspiration ????) the one line, “this has all been wonderful, but now I’m on my way”, became a little personal joke/mantra to help stay positive about the precarious situation. The story starts and ends at home in Tahoe with a one-way lap around the world with time spent in a few other places including a memorable adventure with @sharoutdoors in Macedonia. On a side, but related note, the travel attached to this trip was offset using the @protectourwinters cost of carbon tool. It’s not the end-all be-all answer, but it’s a great tool to employ as you find yourself on the go again locally and/or globally in the weeks/months to come- https://protectourwinters.org/cost-of-carbon/
