The Most Far-Fetched Place You’ll Ever Ski| Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Thirsty, jet-lagged, but aware, I weave through a maze of queues, neon lights and signs. The diversity of people around me covers all inhabitable continents of planet earth. I’m in an Arab country, for sure, but the rich cultures, different languages and diversity of dress as I walk to a passport control desk is a participant observers dream come true.

I’m not 100% sure how to navigate my several hour layover in Dubai, but apparently it’s easy enough to get a temporary tourist visa and explore the city before my next flight to New Delhi. It’s part of the experience when flying with Emirates, to bookend ones final destination with several hours on either end of a trip in Dubai.
